Stormy has Hong Kong Cup in his sights

 In Lambourn News

The Ed Walker-trained Stormy Antarctic will be heading out to Hong Kong to prepare for the $28,000,000 (£2.74m) Gr.1 Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin in December.

Confirming his plans on his website’s blog, the trainer said:

He was a big weak 3yo when he left us and won his last start at Sandown which qualified him for HK. I think Stormy Antarctic will be best over ten furlongs on a tight track and fast ground so should he get in then the Hong Kong Cup is the likely next start for him.

After running a career-best when finishing 1½ lengths behind Roaring Lion in the QE2, Stormy Antarctic could now face the former Walker-trained Glorious Forever and last years’ winner Time Warp.
