The original fantasy racing game is back!

 In Lambourn News

The Ten to Follow is the ultimate fantasy racing game for any racing fan. Players will select a stable of 10 horses to accumulate them points throughout the season when they win or place in any race during the game period. Ten to Follow is a game of strategy, luck and ultimately fun. Map out where you think your horses will run and how they will pick up points to inform your ideal stable.

£100,000 Prize Pool Guaranteed

The more people who play, the more money there is in the pot and the bigger the prizes. Last year’s winner took home a top prize of £104,832. This year there’s a minimum £100,000 prize pool guaranteed, with cash prizes down to 500th place. Each stable costs £5 or €5.50 and you are able to enter as many stables as you wish.

Scoring

Every time your horse wins or places, you pick up points. The amount of points earned with each win depends on the level of the race won:

Grade 1 – 25 pts
Grade 2 – 20 pts
Grade 3 – 15 pts
Listed – 12 pts
Any other race – 10 pts

On top of that, the horse will also receive the equivalent points returned for a £1 e/w bet on the Tote. The Tote return is always calculated with the inclusion of Tote Guarantee.

As well as gaining points for winning any race, there are 21 selected “Bonus Races” throughout the competition. Winners of these races will pick up an additional 25 points, while 12 points are given to the runner-up. Finding horses that will compete in one, or more, of these bonus races could be a good strategy.

What’s New?

There’s a new feature for this year’s game in the shape of the Angler’s Algo, a smart pick auto-fill algorithm intelligently designed to select the best horses for your stable. Whether you just want the algo to pick 1, 2, or up to all 10 horses, it will pick a balanced stable of horses optimised to score the most points across the season. This includes targeting bonus races, selecting “bankers” aimed at ensuring the points rack up throughout the season, and picking wildcard horses that can make the all-important difference.

How To Play

The Tote Ten to Follow competition for the national Hunt season opens on Monday 25th October, with a deadline of 11am on Saturday 13th November to enter your stables. Point scoring starts that afternoon with the Saturday of Cheltenham’s November meeting.
