Harry Derham is a new National Hunt Racehorse Trainer currently based in Frenchman’s House, Upper Lambourn, where he intends to send out his first runners around the turn of the year.
Frenchman’s is a 20 box yard that is providing a base to start from whilst a purpose built state-of-the-art facility is being created, 20 minutes east of Upper Lambourn, in the beautiful village of Boxford. Upon completion Upper Farm Stables will be a superb site with three all weather gallops, multiple schooling facilities, walker, lunge pen, turn out paddocks, purpose built vet box, owners room and 45 brand new stables.
Headed up by Harry, the team at HDR all share his ambition to compete in the top races in the National Hunt game and give our owners a fantastic experience both on and off the racecourse.
Prince Nino | taunton
After his run at Wetherby, Prince Nino has now been given a handicap mark which I hope he can be competitive off. I still think that he is a horse who is quite green and immature and so I think a run in a handicap will do him the world of good. I think that the ground will suit, I’m optimistic that the distance shouldn’t be a problem so I really hope that he can go and run well. I think this run in a handicap will stand him in good stead as he’s not been good enough to compete in novice company so you’re always up against it, but now he’s in a handicap I hope he will be able to hold his own. As I say the ground is a positive for him the more it dries out and if he runs well and applies himself, I’m optimistic he has an outside each-way chance.
